semarang, io.undip.ac.id; His name is Islam. He is originally from Egypt and one of the awardee of Indonesian government scholarship, Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB). As this program requires students to master Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) to undergo their master programs, they have to attend Indonesian class as the first year program. During this program the students learn how to speak, listen, read and write indonesian and one of the activities in the class is Indonesian story telling. “I start to learn bahasa Indonesia two years ago and what I do like most is Indonesian story telling. It gaves me a wild imagination when I read the story and re-tell it to other people” Islam says.

Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) scholarship

This year, International Office of Universitas Diponegoro accepts seven (7) students as awardee of this scholarship. Then, what is KNB Scholarship? It is a scholarship which is provided by Ministry of Education and Culture that allow international students to undergo their master degree program in 16 prominent universities around the country. This fellowship aims to actively contribute the human resource development, strengthen strategic partnership and promoting deeper understanding among developing countries. This program accepts more than 120 citizens from ASEAN and other developing countries to take their master degree here in Indonesia. It was firstly launched in 2009, this fellowship has already been awarding 992 people from various countries around the planet.

Back to KNB awardees at Universitas Diponegoro. They are all seven person from Egypt, Yaman, Republic Democratic of Timor Leste, Rwanda and Sierra Leone. The students plan to take master degree from various field such as environment, public health, communication, etc. Universitas Diponegoro through Diponegoro International Office (DIO) handles and prepares every single needs related to their study here at Undip.

International Student Summit

Every year, Ministry of Education and Culture conduct a national event for almost all international student who study in various university in Indonesia called International Student Summit. This year, in collaboration with Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, the Ministry of Education and Culture held the 8th International Students Summit 2019. Carrying message Indonesia, unity in diversity, all participants must wear Indonesian traditional costumes including Islam, a participant from Universitas Diponegoro.

Semarang, io.undip.semarang: – On Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019 on 09.00 am – 12.00 pm, delegations from Airlangga University, Surabaya conducted a visitation with Universitas Diponegoro, taking place at International Office Widya Puraya Undip.

The delegations were:

The agenda of the visitation was to discuss the cooperation of an International Outreach Program (COP): Life Below Water under the consortium cooperation with ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET), that will be held on Desember, 15th-21st Desember 2019. This program will takes place in Surabaya and Semarang and will be attended by 20 international students and 10 international lecturers from affiliated university under this program.

UNDIP as one of the most respected universities in Indonesia with its vision of “ becoming an excellent research university in 2020 or World Class University ” has worked hard to improve its world ranking, including upgrading websites, increasing the number of budgets for research, improving the quality of  human resources (PhD), and opening international programs.

One of the leading activities of the Faculty of Humanities is the “Summer Course Program”. This program is designed to bring international students to know the culture and get involved in several events that have been designed. The program which is planned to last for 2 weeks will involve all departments in the Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University.
