On Friday, 8 May 2026, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) engaged in a strategic discussion with Diponegoro University (UNDIP) as part of the NTU–UNDIP Talent Development Discussion 2026. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore future collaboration in talent development, postgraduate education, human resource development, and broader international partnerships.

The NTU delegation was led by Dr. Maliki Osman, Senior Advisor (ASEAN and Flagship Programmes) at the NTU President’s Office and former Second Minister for Education of Singapore. He was accompanied by Prof. Lydia Helena Wong, Director of Global Alliance of Industries @ NTU (GAIN).

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the leadership of Diponegoro University, including Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., Rector of UNDIP; Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU., Director of Reputation, Partnership and Global Connectivity (RPGC); and Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Deputy Director for Partnership and Global Connectivity.

During the discussion, NTU Singapore expressed its interest in strengthening institutional cooperation with UNDIP through initiatives in postgraduate education, academic engagement, and talent development. NTU also introduced the Indonesia–NTU Singapore TalEnt Programme (INSTEP), a scholarship initiative jointly funded by NTU and Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP). The programme is designed for Indonesian Bachelor’s degree graduates who aspire to pursue Master’s degree studies at NTU Singapore.

INSTEP offers comprehensive financial support, including tuition fees and monthly stipends. The programme focuses on strategic areas such as food security, energy, sustainability, digital transformation, and national resilience, in line with Indonesia’s future development priorities.

During the meeting, NTU Singapore also conveyed its aspiration to establish a long-term partnership with UNDIP in nurturing globally competitive Indonesian talents. Both institutions discussed opportunities for academic exchange, international exposure for students, and collaborative programmes that could contribute to the development of future professionals and leaders in strategic sectors.

Furthermore, the NTU delegation proposed the possibility of organizing seminars or dialogue sessions with UNDIP undergraduate students to introduce the INSTEP programme more broadly and encourage high-achieving students to pursue international postgraduate education opportunities at NTU Singapore.

The discussion took place in a productive and cordial atmosphere and marked an important step in strengthening the institutional relationship between UNDIP and NTU Singapore. Semarang, Indonesia — Wednesday, April 15, 2026 — Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) officially hosted a delegation from Bursa Uludağ University (Türkiye) for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new chapter in international academic cooperation. The event took place at the UNDIP Rectorate Building.
The occasion was attended by the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., together with Vice Rector IV, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., both reaffirming the institution’s commitment to expanding global partnerships in education and research.

Also present were Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Deputy Director of Partnerships and Global Connectivity, and Abdul Rohman, S.Hum., representing the Diponegoro International Office. Their participation highlighted UNDIP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its international network and collaborative initiatives.
Representing Bursa Uludağ University were Mehmet Öztürk, B.Eng., CEO of Mertay Makina; Prof. Dr. Kadir Cavdar, a lecturer at the university; and David Setiadhi, Ph.D., a student affiliated with Bursa Uludağ University.
The MoU establishes a foundation for cooperation across multiple areas, including joint research, academic exchanges, student mobility programs, and collaborative scholarly work. More than a formal agreement, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering long-term collaboration built on mutual trust, academic excellence, and innovation.

Both institutions expressed optimism that the collaboration will not only enhance the quality of education and research, but also create meaningful global exposure for students and faculty members. Through this partnership, Universitas Diponegoro and Bursa Uludağ University aim to develop impactful programs, encourage cross-border knowledge exchange, and address global challenges through interdisciplinary research.
This collaboration ultimately underscores a joint vision to strengthen international engagement and contribute to the advancement of higher education in an increasingly interconnected world.

Semarang, 13 March 2026 – Universitas Diponegoro held a warm and memorable International Student Gathering and Iftar Party, bringing together international students, university leaders, and representatives from various student communities in a celebration of togetherness during the holy month of Ramadan. The event served as a platform to strengthen intercultural connections while fostering a sense of belonging among international students studying at the university.

The gathering was attended by Mr. Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication of Universitas Diponegoro, who delivered welcoming remarks to the participants. In his speech, he expressed appreciation for the diverse international community at the university and emphasized the institution’s commitment to creating an inclusive academic environment for students from around the world. He also highlighted that events such as the iftar gathering play an important role in strengthening friendship, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among students of different backgrounds.

The event also featured a speech from Mr. Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., who encouraged international students to actively engage in campus life and take advantage of the academic and cultural opportunities available during their time at Universitas Diponegoro. He noted that the presence of international students enriches the university’s global perspective and strengthens its international academic community.

 

Representing the International School community, Bilal Ahmed, as the President of International School, delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude to the university leadership. In his remarks, he expressed sincere appreciation to the Vice Rector for organizing the event and for continuously supporting international students throughout their academic journey at Universitas Diponegoro.

A meaningful highlight of the evening came when a student representative from India presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D.. The gift symbolized the gratitude of international students for the university’s support, hospitality, and efforts in creating opportunities for cultural engagement and community building.

Semarang, 4 March 2026 – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) welcomed an official delegation from the University of Sheffield for a strategic discussion focused on curriculum alignment and the development of collaborative pathways to enhance graduate-level student mobility.

The visiting delegation from the University of Sheffield was represented by Ms. Louise McCarthy, who engaged in comprehensive discussions with UNDIP’s leadership. Representing UNDIP was Mr. Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., Vice Rector, who conveyed the university’s strong commitment to expanding global academic partnerships.

Also attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity, along with the Director of Academic Affairs and Vice Deans from faculties and schools across UNDIP. Their presence reflected institutional readiness to pursue structured and sustainable international collaboration.

The Diponegoro International Office (DIO) played a central role in facilitating the visit, coordinating the agenda, and ensuring alignment with UNDIP’s internationalization framework. During the institutional dialogue, Mr. Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., and Mr. Abdul Rohman, S.Hum., representing the Diponegoro International Office, actively steered discussions on academic alignment, partnership mechanisms, and mobility schemes.

A key focus of the meeting was the matching and harmonization of graduate program curricula between both institutions. The discussion explored potential pathways for joint supervision, credit transfer systems, and the establishment of structured mobility programs designed to provide students with enriched academic exposure in both Indonesia and the United Kingdom.

Both universities expressed mutual interest in developing collaborative models that support graduate student exchanges, joint research supervision, double degree or academic progression pathways, as well as academic staff mobility under the funding of Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). These initiatives are designed to create an integrated academic ecosystem that promotes knowledge exchange, strengthens research collaboration, and provides students and faculty members with meaningful international exposure while maintaining high academic standards at both institutions.

The initiative aims to ensure that curriculum compatibility supports seamless academic transition and maintains high academic standards across institutions.

Beyond academic alignment, the discussion also emphasized governance, quality assurance, and operational readiness. The Diponegoro International Office will continue to coordinate follow-up communications, technical mapping of study programs, and institutional documentation to support the development of a formal cooperation framework.

Furthermore, the Diponegoro International Office (DIO) reaffirmed its commitment to overseeing mobility administration, student support services, and partnership sustainability to ensure that future collaboration delivers measurable academic impact.

The visit marked an important milestone in strengthening ties between Universitas Diponegoro and the University of Sheffield, reflecting a shared vision to enhance global engagement and create meaningful international learning opportunities for graduate students.

Semarang, 4 March 2026 – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) conducted a strategic coordination meeting with International Talent Circulation (INTACT) Base Taiwan-Indonesia in preparation for the Taiwan–Indonesia International Fall 2026 INTENSE Programs Education Fair, which will be hosted at Muladi Dome UNDIP.

The meeting took place at the Rector’s Meeting Room, Widya Puraya Building, and focused on strengthening collaboration to expand educational and professional pathways for Indonesian students through the Taiwan International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program). The coordination process was closely supported by the Diponegoro International Office (DIO) as part of its mandate to facilitate and oversee UNDIP’s international partnerships.

From UNDIP, the discussion was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Mr. Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., and Mr. Abdul Rohman, S.Hum., who steered the institutional dialogue on academic alignment, event preparation, and strategic outreach.

From INTACT Base Taiwan, the discussion was led by Prof. Shuenn-Ren Cheng, serving as the official representative of INTACT Base Taiwan. The presentation session was also delivered by Mr. Muhammad Eraz Aufarrahman, Program Manager and representative of INTACT Base Taiwan, who outlined the technical framework of the INTENSE Program, its implementation mechanisms, and coordination strategies for the 2026 EduFair.

MoA Signing and Institutional Commitment

As part of the continued partnership, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was formally signed, marking a strengthened and more operational commitment between both institutions. The signing ceremony was facilitated institutionally by the Diponegoro International Office, ensuring compliance with UNDIP’s international cooperation governance and documentation procedures.

The MoA signing on behalf of UNDIP was represented by Vice Rector Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., reflecting the university’s full institutional support for the INTENSE Program and the upcoming 2026 EduFair.

Meanwhile, from INTACT Base Taiwan, the MoA was signed by Prof. Shuenn-Ren Cheng, reaffirming INTACT’s commitment to advancing Taiwan–Indonesia academic and industry-linked collaboration under the INTENSE framework.

The agreement is grounded in mutual respect and reciprocity, in accordance with the regulations of Indonesia and Taiwan (Republic of China), and aims to foster sustainable academic exchange and industry-linked education initiatives.

Preparing for the 2026 INTENSE EduFair

The upcoming EduFair at Muladi Dome UNDIP is expected to serve as a comprehensive platform for Indonesian students to explore study opportunities in Taiwan, particularly under the INTENSE Program for the Fall 2026 intake.

In the lead-up to the event, the Diponegoro International Office (DIO) will continue coordinating partner communication, campus-wide dissemination, and operational readiness to ensure the successful implementation of the international education fair.

Through this collaboration, UNDIP and INTACT Base Taiwan reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening global academic networks and creating impactful, sustainable Taiwan–Indonesia partnerships in the years ahead.
