Diponegoro International Office (DIO) invites eligible Universitas Diponegoro students to participate in the Ryukyus International Student Exchange (RISE) Program at the University of the Ryukyus, Japan.
The RISE Program is a short-term student exchange opportunity that allows students from partner universities to experience academic and student life at the University of the Ryukyus while exploring Japanese and Okinawan culture. Depending on their academic interests, students may apply for courses related to their field of study, Japanese language and culture, or leadership and intercultural learning.

Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria and prepare the required documents:
- Active Student Status:
Applicants must be active Universitas Diponegoro students who have completed at least their third semester. Must provide:- Valid Student ID Card (KTM)
- Current Academic Registration (KRS)
- Minimum GPA:
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, demonstrated by an official academic transcript. - Recommendation Letter:
Recommendation letter issued by the Dean or Vice Dean of the applicant’s faculty. - Language Proficiency:
Applicants must provide proof of language proficiency:- TOEFL score of at least 500 (or equivalent), OR
- JLPT Level N2 certificate
- Study Plan:
Prepare a study plan (maximum 300 words, submitted in PDF format) outlining:- Academic objectives
- Personal objectives
- Motivation for participating in the exchange program
- Passport & Medical Fitness:
Applicants must be medically fit to travel and possess a valid passport. Students must complete internal registration first; a copy of the passport identity page may subsequently be requested.

Application Process
The RISE Program application consists of a two-stage process:
- Stage 1 — Internal Selection at Universitas Diponegoro:
All interested students must first register through the UNDIP internal selection process via:
Undip Student Mobility Registration FormOnly students selected through the internal selection process will proceed to the host university application stage.
- Stage 2 — Application to the University of the Ryukyus:
Selected students will be officially nominated by Universitas Diponegoro to the University of the Ryukyus. Following official nomination, students will complete the host university application according to provided instructions.
Important: Students must complete Stage 1 (UNDIP Internal Selection) before proceeding to Stage 2. Direct applications to the University of the Ryukyus without UNDIP nomination are not accepted.
