International Office of Diponegoro University with partnership with International Association of Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) Local Committee of Diponegoro University successfully held “Opening Ceremony of IAAS 59th World Congress” on Tuesday, August 2nd 2016 in Meeting Hall of Library Building 1st floor, Diponegoro University, Tembalang campus.
The opening ceremony was started at 9 a.m. until 12 a.m. with two keynote speakers for welcoming the delegates, the vice rector of academic and student affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Zainuri DEA and the IAAS LC UNDIP student advisor, Dr. Ir. Delianis Pringgenies, M.Sc. This event is attended by the students who come from 24 countries around the world.
IAAS itself has a headquarter in Belgium since 1957 and has a lot of member from 40 countries around the world. In Indonesia, there are 8 university who join IAAS Indonesia, they are IAAS LC of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), IAAS LC of University of Brawijaya (UB), IAAS LC of Padjadjaran University (UNPAD), IAAS LC of Diponegoro University (UNDIP), IAAS LC of Sebelas Maret University (UNS), IAAS LC of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), IAAS LC of University of Mataram (UNRAM), IAAS LC Lambung Mangkurat University (UNLAM), and there are still always be some potentials to develop more member in university which has agricultural faculty.

Ristekdikti has announced the selected proposal for PKKUI 2016. Among 54 submitted proposals, there are 30 proposals that will be founded in the fiscal year of 2016. Congratulation to the winner and IO Undip as partner from selected proposals will announce further activities regarding the initiation of collaborative programs on July 2016.

Ristekdikti provides opportunities for international office to conduct program for internationalisation of higher education. This activity will be entirely funded by a grant program called Institutional Strengthening of the International Office Affairs (PKKUI).
The purpose of this activity is enhancing the institutional function of the Office of International Affairs, improving the quality, quantity, continuity international cooperation pioneered by university in Indonesia with university in abroad.
Undip has been chosen as a leader among international office in Jawa Tengah, Yogyakarta, and Kalimantan. Based on the requirement for proposal submission, Undip International Office offers the opportunity to all international office in Jawa Tengah, Yogyakarta, and Kalimantan to held the join activities.

Semarang, io.undip.ac.id, International Office of Diponegoro University held a batik class for Darmasiswa Students. International Students were enthusiastic in studying how to make Batik. They show their creativity in making Batik. Some students drew wayang (Javanese puppets) for their own Batik. Wiem Gassoumi from Tunisia and Remi Kondo from Japan drew Petruk and Bagong for her Batik and Santiago, a student from Colombia drew Semar for his Batik. Meanwhile, Yen Trinh from Vietnam and Hana from Thailand drew the symbol of their country and the symbol of Indonesia in their Batik. It shows that International students are really interested in studying about Indonesian traditional culture. by doing this activity, we hope that we can promote our traditional culture to International students.
