[Call for Papers] International Conference on Disruptive Innovation 2016

[Call for Papers] International Conference on Disruptive Innovation 2016

Disruptive innovation describes a process by which a product or service completely alter the market with a new technology, eventually getting all the players in the industry either to adopt this technology or to disappear. A disruptive innovation is an innovation that creates a new market and value network and eventually disrupts an existing market and value network, displacing established market leaders and alliances. The term ‘disruptive innovation’ is used  to describe innovations that create new markets by creating new categories of customers. He dose it partly by harnessing new technologies but also by developing new business models and exploiting old technologies in new ways. By contrast, sustaining innovation simply improves existing products. The Smartphone, for example, Apple iPhone, was a disruptive innovation as it completely changed the way customers used their phones and at the same time contributed to the obsolescence of the camera market, subnotebooks and mobile phones.

The conference, “International Conference on Disruptive Innovation”, draws attention to under-examined issues, rarely heard voices and under-represented scholarly perspectives in Supply Chain Innovation and other management disciplines. While open to all of your best work, this international conference seeks to encourage symposia and paper offerings that build bridges by:

Undip Got an Enthusiastic Response from KNB Scholarship Applicants in Its Inaugural Year

Undip Got an Enthusiastic Response from KNB Scholarship Applicants in Its Inaugural Year

The Indonesian government realizes that higher education could compose a more constructive role in helping such a country to achieve a long-term socio-economic goal as it has a clear and practical impact on society. We are convinced that it can promote responsible citizens, ethical behavior, educational ambition, professional development in a broad range of fields, and even cross border engagement. And as part of our commitment to help our international society surviving the global social and economic challenges, sharing our experience and resources in nurturing highly skilled and educated society has become our primary approach to contribute in the human resources development in our neighboring developing countries. The developing countries certainly need leaders, well-mannered society, educated citizens, and skilled workers for their industry, government, and academia. In this respect, the KNB scholarship offered by the Indonesian government provides the opportunity for potential students in developing countries to develop their knowledge and competencies that will subsequently enhance their chances to fulfill those roles back in their home countries. The KNB scholarship opens the opportunity to experience life in the culturally most diverse nation in the world while studying and earning a master degree.

The scholarship is offered to potential students from developing countries to earn their Master Degree at one of 15 prominent universities in Indonesia. Officially launched in 2006 by the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, this program has been attracting a significant number of applicants, as by 2015, 896 students from 64 countries had been awarded this scholarship. As for the academic year of 2016/2017, Diponegoro University is given the first experience to be involved as one of the 15 prominent universities in Indonesia to accept new master students for KNB scholarships. Although its the first time, there has been 116 applicants who choose Diponegoro University as their first choice.
