Undip’s participation in APAIE 2026 aimed to develop strategic partnerships with leading universities and educational institutions worldwide. In addition, the engagement was directed at enhancing the quality of education, improving higher education resource management, and advancing academic performance at the global level.

Through various bilateral meetings and discussion forums, the Undip delegation, trough Diponegoro International Office (DIO) promoted its flagship programs, joint research schemes, student exchange initiatives, double degree programs, and other academic collaboration opportunities. This effort also supports Undip’s internationalization strategy in increasing student recruitment—both inbound and outbound—as well as expanding the institution’s global exposure.

Undip’s presence at APAIE 2026 reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its position as an internationally reputable university that remains adaptive to global dynamics. By expanding networks and building cross-border collaborations, Undip is optimistic about continuously improving the quality of its tridharma (education, research, and community service) and enhancing the global competitiveness of its graduates.

Active participation in international forums such as APAIE represents a concrete step toward realizing Undip’s vision as an excellent and impactful research university for the global community.

Study in Indonesia Booth: Always Crowded

At APAIE 2026 in Hong Kong, Undip joined 15 Indonesian universities under the consortium Nationwide University Network in Indonesia (NUNI). As a member of the NUNI consortium, Universitas Diponegoro participated in the “Study in Indonesia” booth.

Exhibitors from various countries showed strong enthusiasm in visiting the booth. Undip recorded numerous initial international collaboration initiatives with institutions such as Hallym University, CY Cergy Paris Université, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, Mapúa University, Rowan University, Parchment, University of Pécs, University of Missouri, Myongji University, ITMO University, Burapha University, Akdeniz University, Mumbai Institute of Technology, and Université Paris-Saclay.

Universitas Diponegoro assigned its Directorate of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity (DRKKG) to serve as exhibitor at the event. Alhamdulillah, this participation resulted in numerous collaboration initiatives, including student exchange programs, joint international conferences, joint research projects, and visiting lecturer arrangements.

Supporting Undip’s Vision as a World Class University (WCU)

Undip’s participation in the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition 2026 (APAIE 2026) marks a strategic step in strengthening its transformation toward becoming a World Class University (WCU). This international forum, which brings together hundreds of global higher education institutions, serves not merely as a promotional platform but as a concrete instrument to systematically and sustainably fulfill various WCU parameters.

The transformation toward a World Class University is not solely about pursuing global rankings, but also about enhancing broader societal impact. In this regard, Undip continues to uphold principles of conducting research that addresses national and regional challenges, fostering innovation that contributes to sustainable development, empowering communities through academic expertise, and promoting international collaboration that generates local solutions (global knowledge for local impact).

Therefore, participation in APAIE 2026 not only contributes to improving quantitative WCU indicators but also reinforces Undip’s role as a university that is globally connected, academically and research excellent, collaborative across borders, and consistently impactful and beneficial to society.

This step underscores that internationalization and community engagement are not separate endeavors; rather, they mutually reinforce each other in Undip’s journey toward becoming a dignified and impactful World Class University.

UNDIP International Students Celebrate Cultural Harmony at Grebeg Sudiro Surakarta 2026

UNDIP International Students Celebrate Cultural Harmony at Grebeg Sudiro Surakarta 2026

Surakarta, 15 February 2026 – International students of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) took part in the International Parade at the Grebeg Sudiro Cultural Carnival on February 15, 2026, in Surakarta (Solo). Their participation highlighted intercultural exchange within one of Central Java’s most prominent cultural festivals.

Held annually in the historic Pasar Gede and Sudiroprajan areas, Grebeg Sudiro is widely recognized as a celebration of harmony between Javanese and Chinese traditions ahead of the Lunar New Year. The festival features traditional performances, lion dances, artistic processions, and the iconic gunungan kue keranjang, symbolizing prosperity and gratitude.

During the parade, UNDIP’s international students marched alongside local cultural groups while wearing traditional attire from their respective countries. Their presence added a vibrant global dimension to the celebration and was warmly welcomed by thousands of visitors lining the parade route.

Beyond the festivities, the event provided meaningful experiential learning. By engaging directly with local communities, students experienced Indonesia’s values of inclusivity, tolerance, and cultural coexistence. Their involvement reflects UNDIP’s commitment to internationalization through cultural immersion and community engagement.
