SEMARANG, IOUNDIP.ac.id – We would like to take this opportunity to introduce SMU’s Visiting Student Programme (VSP), an exciting initiative that will provide your students with a transformative global experience to enrich their academic and personal growth.
VSP is a fee-paying programme with a study period of one or two academic terms, each lasting 16 weeks (inclusive of one week of recess). The programme is open to undergraduate students from any university. Students under VSP can take on a wide range of courses across various disciplines, including business, accountancy, economics, social sciences, law, computer science, and interdisciplinary studies. Tuition fees, cost of living, and other pertinent information can be found in the programme factsheet (link can be found in the ‘Important Information’ section below).
Nominations for the Visting Student Programme (VSP) for Fall 2025 (Aug – Dec) are now open and students can apply directly through the application portal or be nominated by your university. If you wish to nominate them through your university, the nomination and application details are below. We would be happy to arrange a call to discuss this opportunity further. |
NOMINATION |
To nominate, please complete the attached excel form and follow the steps below:
1) As we will be using an automated process to register your nominations, please use the provided template without modifications and return the completed form via the same email thread. Please do NOT use a fresh email as the data will not be captured in our system.
2) Students are allowed to read 2 to 4 courses during their term at SMU. If your students need to take 5 courses, please indicate this special request on the nomination form.
3) Kindly avoid nominating students in their final term for exchange at SMU to prevent any risk to their graduation if they cannot enrol in or pass required courses.
4) If you have sent us your nominations earlier, we seek your kind assistance to re-submit the list using the attached form. A “NIL” reply is appreciated if you are not nominating students to us in the upcoming term.
Nomination deadline: 15 April 2025
Please feel free to let us know if you need a deadline extension. |
APPLICATION |
Application instructions will be sent to the nominated students directly and progressively from 15 April onwards. To avoid data mismatches and delays, kindly request your students to:
1) Use the same email address indicated in your nomination form for their online application at SMU.
2) Upload all the necessary documents into the application portal (including a passport the photo identification page of a valid passport with a validity period of no less than six months from the end-date of the study term – i.e., for 7 June 2026 for 1-term and 3 November 2027 for 1-year).
3) Be flexible with their study plan and get more courses approved for credit mapping purposes.
Application deadline: 25 April 2025
Please encourage your students to submit their online application as soon as possible – and before the deadline. Letters of Acceptance (LoA) will be sent to the students electronically around mid-May. |
IMPORTANT INFORMATION |
1) Please encourage all students to carefully read our factsheet and website for information about VSP@SMU.
2) As course enrolment at SMU is done through a live bidding system, offline enrolment is generally not permitted to maintain the integrity and fairness of the system. To give students more flexibility during the bidding process, we kindly request that the home university approves at least 16 courses in advance.
3) A digital transcript will be sent to the student’s SMU campus email within three months after the release of the final examination results (mid-March for Fall Term and mid-July for Spring Term). Please note that no hardcopy of the transcript will be issued. SMU is unable to accommodate requests for early release of the official digital transcript, including for graduation or higher education plans. Additionally, due to the security features of the OpenCerts transcript, we are unable to send the transcript to any third parties, including the student’s home university.
If you require further information or clarifications, please feel free to contact us at exchange@live.undip.ac.id. We look forward to receiving nominations by 15 April 2025!
