UNDIP Strengthens International Network through Indonesia Education Fair and INSPIRE Forum 2026 in Thailand

Pattani, Thailand — Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) participated in the Indonesia Education Fair (IEF) 2026 and the Indonesia–Southern Thailand Partnership for Higher Education (INSPIRE) Forum 2026, held in Pattani, Thailand, from 1–3 September 2026.

Held at CS Pattani Hotel and Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Pattani Campus, the events served as an important platform for UNDIP to strengthen its international presence and networks, particularly in Southern Thailand. UNDIP’s participation also aimed to attract prospective international students and expand the implementation of academic collaborations with partner universities in Thailand.

IEF 2026 and INSPIRE Forum 2026 brought together higher education institutions from Indonesia and Thailand to expand institutional networks and explore opportunities for collaboration in higher education. From Thailand, the events involved several universities, including Prince of Songkla University (PSU) Pattani Campus, Hat Yai University, Fatoni University, and Yala Rajabhat University.

From Indonesia, the events were attended by approximately 30 higher education institutions, including Universitas Airlangga, IPB University, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Hasanuddin, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), and Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). The participation of these institutions highlighted the significant potential for strengthening higher education relations and collaboration between Indonesia and Southern Thailand.

During the events, UNDIP introduced its various study programs, educational opportunities, and scholarship schemes to prospective students in Thailand. In addition to educational promotion, the program featured discussion forums, networking sessions, and institutional matchmaking with Thai universities to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and student mobility.

Through these forums, UNDIP had the opportunity to expand communication and strengthen its network with higher education institutions in Southern Thailand. Several potential areas of collaboration were identified, including:

  • Student and staff exchange
  • Credit transfer
  • Joint research
  • Development of dual degree programs

UNDIP’s participation in IEF 2026 and INSPIRE Forum 2026 is expected to contribute to enhancing UNDIP’s visibility in Thailand while strengthening its position as a university actively engaged in developing international higher education collaborations.

Going forward, the identified collaboration opportunities will be followed up in coordination with relevant faculties and schools to promote the development of concrete and sustainable collaborative programs. These efforts are expected to provide greater opportunities for the UNDIP academic community to participate in international academic and mobility programs while strengthening UNDIP’s connectivity with strategic partners across Southeast Asia.
