Universitas Diponegoro students have the opportunity to study at Singapore Management University (SMU) through the Visiting Student Programme (VSP) for Spring 2027.

The VSP is a credit-bearing study abroad programme that allows undergraduate students to study at SMU for one or two semesters. Students can take courses across various disciplines while experiencing SMU’s rigorous academic environment and Singapore’s vibrant international community.

Eligibility & Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Active Student Status
Applicants must be active Universitas Diponegoro students who have completed at least their third semester (undergraduate students only).
Applicants must provide:

  • Valid Student ID Card (KTM)
  • Current Academic Registration (KRS)

2. Minimum GPA
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, as demonstrated by an official academic transcript.

3. Recommendation Letter
A recommendation letter issued by the Dean or Vice Dean of the applicant’s faculty is required.

4. English Language Proficiency
Applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency with a minimum:

  • TOEFL PBT (paper-based test): 583
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) taken before 21 Jan 2026: 93
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based test) taken from 21 Jan 2026: 5
  • International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS): 7.0
  • C1 Advanced: 185

5. Study Plan
Applicants must prepare a study plan of maximum 300 words outlining their:

  • Academic objectives
  • Personal objectives
  • Motivation for participating in the exchange program

The study plan must be submitted in PDF format.

6. Passport
Applicants must be medically fit to travel and possess a valid passport. Students are required to complete the internal registration form first. A copy of the passport identity page may subsequently be requested as part of the selection/application process.

Important: Participation in the programme through UNDIP is subject to the applicable internal nomination and selection process. Students should ensure that they meet both UNDIP and SMU requirements before applying.

Tuition Fee Notes:
  • Inclusive of the prevailing Goods and Services Tax (GST). Fee is subject to change.
  • Min course load per term is 2.0 courses (credits), and max 4.0 courses (credits).

Application Process

The application process consists of two stages: Stage A – Internal Selection by Universitas Diponegoro (for Nomination Purposes)
  1. Review the eligibility requirements.
  2. Prepare all required documents.
  3. Submit the application through the Student Mobility Undip registration form: Undip Student Mobility Registration Form
  4. Participate in the document screening process.
  5. Wait for the official announcement of nominated students.
Stage B – Application to SMU Application instructions will be sent to the nominated students directly and progressively. To avoid data mismatches and delays, kindly:
  • Use the same email address indicated in your nomination form for their online application at SMU.
  • Upload all the necessary documents into the application portal (including the photo identification page of the passport with a validity period of no less than six months beyond the end-date of the study term – i.e., 6 June 2027 for 1-term and 3 November 2028 for 1-year).
  • Be flexible with your study plan and get more courses approved for credit mapping purposes.
  • Application deadline: 25 September 2026
  • Letters of Acceptance (LoA) will be sent to the students electronically around mid-October.

Important Notes

  • Students are advised not to join the VSP during their final semester to avoid potential risks to graduation.
  • Students should also ensure that their passport remains valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of the study term.
  • Interested students are encouraged to carefully review the programme information and application requirements before applying.
  • Students are allowed to read 2 to 4 courses during their term at SMU. If your students need to take 5 courses, please contact DIO to indicate this special request on the nomination form.
  • Students must upload all required documents to the application portal.
  • The passport identification page must be submitted, and the passport must remain valid for at least six months beyond the end of the study term:
    • One-term study: passport valid beyond 6 June 2027
    • One-year study: passport valid beyond 3 November 2028
