Speech Contest for Darmasiswa Program Students

Semarang, io.undip.ac.id : International Office of Diponegoro University had successfully held Speech Contest for Darmasiswa student in Semarang, on Wednesday, May 13th 2015. The contest was held in ICT Center building, 1st floor. The total of 9 contestants are current students from Darmasiswa program from several universities in Semarang such as Diponegoro University, Soegijapranata Catholic University, and Semarang State University. Drs. Warsito, S.U, as the vice-rector of Diponegoro University opened the contest with a warm foreword and encourage the foreign students to learn Bahasa and culture of Indonesia as much as possible. The contestants were bringing a vary of interesting topics of Indonesian culture which has a lot of differences with their own culture in their countries  such as Vietnam, China, Panama, South Korea, The Philippines, and US. At the end of the contest, the judges had chosen the first winner is Mr. Eric Markos Hughes from Panama, Mr. Joshua C. Agpaoa in the second place, and Ms. Li Chen from China in the third place.

 
DAAD PRESENTATION

Call for participants : the Jakarta Urban Challenge

Semarang, io.undip.ac.id : Connect4Climate, a climate change initiative launched in 2011 by the World Bank, the Global Environment Facility, and the Italian Ministry of the Environment. Connect4Climate’s goal is to create a participatory, open knowledge platform that engages youth in a global climate change conversation to drive local action. Connect4Climate has joined forces with the New Cities Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to shape a better urban future for all. Connect4Climate recently launched the Jakarta Urban Challenge.

The New Cities Foundation and Connect4Climate invites university students and entrepreneurs in Indonesia to propose project proposals to address Jakarta’s mobility and traffic challenges. The Challenge rewards the most effective solutions that:

• Reduce traffic congestion
• Reduce air pollution
• Reduce GHG emissions
• Improve safety and accessibility
